In our most recent recommendation, we reviewed Baby Driver. If you haven’t watched it yet or haven’t watched it in a while, go watch it! Baby Driver’s soundtrack features songs from all kinds of genres for any mood. Interestingly when Edgar Wright couldn't clear a song he wanted, he went to the sampled song and put it in the film. (Which is why you thought you were going to hear "The Next Episode" or "Jump Around" but ended up hearing something else!)
Music is an important part of films. Tons of (in)famous tracks have risen to earworm status because of their appearance in cinema. Most films rely on instrumental scores to drive their stories. Lots of films will occasionally drop a pop tune in when the scene calls for it.
Recently, fashion brands from all over have put out their own playlists. So we are putting out ours too. Introducing the Televised Tapes. Starting today, we’re posting playlists consisting of some great needle drops from our favourite films. Each playlist will have their own mood or theme and will only feature songs used in movies.
Our first tape is available to listen now! Follow Televised Toronto on Spotify and follow our playlists so we know you’re listening to them!
