Pulling Back the Curtain

I love learning about how the people and brands I look up to do what they do. Unfortunately, with the info they put out, there’s not a lot of meat to chew; they often graze the surface or they leave a lot to interpretation. With these blog posts, I wanted to create an open line of communication with the people who support the brand. If you’ve ever spoken to me about the brand and its operations, you’ll know I’m an open book; I’ll tell you almost anything. I’ve told people about upcoming products, when things are coming out, etc. without hesitation, often with enthusiasm. Regardless, all of these questions and answers are all related to the end product. I want to invite you into the inner workings of the brand.
Starting with the Televised pieces in your closets, I will start exploring the references and inspirations behind each piece. On this blog and our Instagram page, you will soon find our newest series “Works Cited”. There are many brands today that push out products that call out to something from the past and never let you know what they are referencing. Or you’ll discover the source from some third-party blog or page on Instagram. For Televised, you’ll know the references because we’ll tell you what they are.
When I find a brand I like, my immediate reaction is to do research: figure out the brand, why they do the things they do, and how they do them. I’ll always go to YouTube first and in most cases, the brand won’t produce any video content on their own. Most of the top results are hauls and styling videos from customers. When you go to YouTube and search Televised, I want our content to be the first thing you see. Starting with the next product we launch, you will find a short film documenting the process of designing a piece: from the inception of an idea to opening up the orders to you all. More details on this new series and any more content heading to the YouTube channel coming soon. In the meantime, subscribe to the channel. Films are a foundational element of our brand, it’s time we made some of our own.
We’re working on a way to get the crewnecks out to you guys soon; stay posted.
Thanks.
